Here's some information regarding taxes, about which many of you have inquired: The State of California, Housing and Community Development (HCD) assigns a state personal property tax on mobilehomes (this is separate from the land property tax Kearney Lodge pays) . HCD in turn passes this over to the County to collect on an annual basis. If a homeowner fails to keep this current, a lien could be placed on their mobilehome. Also, homeowners would be unable to transfer title unless the tax is current because they would need to obtain a tax clearance certificate from the county to provide to HCD.

Multifamily High-Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebates

The Save-A-Buck Program offers rebates to owners of apartments, condominiums, town homes, duplexes, triplexes, and mobile homes of up to $185 for the purchase of high-efficiency clothes washer (HEW) instead of a standard top-loading model. HEWs use 65% less water, 55% less energy, and less detergent; clean better; and are gentler on clothes than standard clothes washers. Drying time can be cut in half. This program generates both water and energy savings. HEWs must be from the list of approved models and have a water efficiency factor of 5.0 or less.
